1985 jaguar sagging headliner behind sunroof.. it is definetly the headliner

1985 jaguar sagging headliner behind sunroof.. it is definetly the headliner and the headboard you can push the whole thing up but it just sags again. Detailed instructions on how to replace would be great.

That  sounds like the headliner has turned loose and has a sagging bag just behind the sunroof opening. We have an online guide for installing a 98 Jaguar XJ8 at this link, this should help quite a bit. May not be exactly the same car, but they will be very close to the same.

the 1985 is a Series 3 XJ. Totally different from any 1998 Jaguar. All Series 3 headliners will at some point come undone and sag. (the fabric separates from the foam layer glued to the board). There are no more headliner boards or "biscuits" available at Jaguar dealers. you need to get one from a salvage car if yours is cracked. However, you can repair the original board with fiberglass cloth and resin, no big deal. Then you recover it with new headliner fabric using 3M Headliner Spray Adhesive. The old headliner board will come out and go back in through the front, driver's side door. but you need to remove the front seats and all the trim around the headliner before you can remove it.
We carry the replacement headliner kit for the Jaguar, if you are looking for the headliner board, you may need to go to a dealer.
