Your website offers a great explanation of how-to but my question is before re-covering, what do I need to do to prep the headliner board before re-installing the new material? thanks

That's a good question and one we have been asked many times. The only thing that you really need to do to prepare the headliner board of the jaguar or any other automobile is to get it good and clean, the old foam (which is probably completely deterioated) needs to be removed as thouroughly as possible. Scrap it, sweep it and blow it off if you have compressed air. Once the old foam (not the old adhesive) is removed, the new headliner will adhere well. You need not worry about the old adhesive, you can't get it off anyways.
