I have a 94 dodge dakota ext. cab and I am not sure how to use your headliner kit properly. The old headliner fabric is very thin and peels off easily. There is a thin foam backing left on the cardboard headliner. Do I have to remove the foam? If so, how? The fabrics you supply in your kits, how thick is the fabric? Is it foam backed? Will the adhesive soak through? Will I need to order another can of adhesive. I want to be sure before I order.

A extended cab truck headliner kit will do the 94 Dodge Ext. cab.

ANSWER: It would be wise to get the old foam off the headliner board if you can accomplish this task, however, sometimes it is a hard task because the headliner foam on those year model dodges is stuck tight - a wire grill brush will do the best job for you. You can cover over the old foam if you desire to do so, we've done that many times before (just make sure to get all dusty spots cleaned good, and all the places where the foam has turned a different color from the rest of the foam). Our headliner is 3/16 inch thick with foam backing included. Adhesive won't soak through the material/foam as long as you use it properly, one can is all you will need to do a 94 Dodge Extended cab truck.
