I just did my headliner and someone told me that super 77 would be fine so did i use the wrong glue? So if its starts to sag do i have to get all new material or can i use some better glue to glue it back up? 1 last ? is 3m 90 alright to use?
The 3M Super 77 is good adhesive for what it is good for; holding paper together. But when it comes to permanently gluing a headliner, it doesn't have high enough heat resistence to hold the headliner for the life of the headliner. It will hold for a while, but not permanently. The headliner material expands and contracts with temperature rise and fall and this constantly pulls at the adhesive, the 77 won't hold the headliner in!
If it comes down, you are right; you will need to get new headliner material and some high quality adhesive; that'll do it right! That 3M 90 you are talking about; I believe that will work fine.
