Why makes the headliners in auto's drop down so bad?

There are many ideas as to why headliners drop down; but they all are just opinions; and like everybody else; i have an opinion too. My opinion on this is. . . We see more headliners fall along the seaboard and in humid weather instead of dry air. I believe that headliners come down because of the constant expanding in humid cool weather and contracting in hot dry weather of the cloth; year after year after year. After several years of this... the foam deterioates and comes apart; therefore causing the headliner material to come loose from the foam.

I think you are both wrong I think the person who has the job of gluing the adhesive in the first place sits in the driver seat while doing so and does not get as much glue over his head in fear that he will cover himself with glue. himself to the does not get it
Hot Aussie sun boils the roof then you get in it , on goes aircon ,the glue can’t cope with temp going up and down makes glue brittle. No glue can survive years of that. After doing roof linings for job I now am without all my tools so I just paint thumb tacks top the same colour as lining and glue the long spiky bit that goes in wall. While glue is wet push them in about 3 inches spacing between them looks great.
